My sister Jean just told me about Jenn and david getting married in TO. Congrats to them both and their new baby set for September. It’s funny that the two of you are in Toronto for the gay Pride weekend. Julie and I were calling a friend that we have thought was 110% in the closet. He was in our wedding. Totally side steps the being gay issue at all costs. But when we called him to talk about something totally off topic, he turns out to be in Toronto. Go figure! Julie and i wish that he would just be himself for just once. He is totally miserable being gay in a heterosexual world. I’m sure the weekend for him turned out to be as wonderful as you seem to have experienced. Enjoy! perhaps we’ll see you at Christie’s graduation party in 2 weeks in Syracuse.

I just wanted to let you know that you have gotten my day off to a lousy start by making me late to Sancona. I decided to make a quick stop at jpnearl and I have been held up for an hour.
I don’t know why I always let so much time go by between visits because I’m always knocked out by what I see, hear, and read. I never fail to laugh out loud and /or say umgh!

Was good to have met you both at Barbs party in Bristol. Pa. My daughter and I are the ones who told you we’ve been reading your blog(she’s the belly dancer). Thanks for your article on Grants Departments Stores. I too remember them in my early years. The closed when I was around six years old.
However, W.T. Grant was born in Bradford County, PA, not in the City of Bradford. Bradford County is directly south of Binghamton, NY, while Bradford, PA is Mckean County which is a couple of hours west of there. To be more exact, he was born in Stevens, Township, PA about 30 miles south of Binghamton.
I lived in Bradford County during my childhood. I now live in Syracuse. Where in Northern Lights Plaza was Grants located?

I am just posting because I was looking at OLD MINNEAPOLIS site in Facebook and it reminded me when I worked at Walgreens Drug Store. It was a Sweda cash register and I can tell you this, the barcodes may be easier, but I prefer still, the original REAL cash registers. I swear I am becoming a certified “luddite”. Of course luddites disliked technology, but I believe they would consider the old cash registers to be a useful appliance and not a technology computing system.
