I've recently rediscovered fun with a video camera and video editing software. It's a lot easier to be creative these days, the last time I attempted stuff like this I was using an 8mm camera, a razor blade and inventive lighting.

All of these video clips are created using the following:

I save them in QuickTime 7 format, medium resolution. You'll need the latest version of Quicktime to view them. Enjoy.

Transporter Sequence. Even though I don't have Adobe After Effects or Apple's Motion 2 yet, I decided to get creative with dissolves and try my own transporter effect. In this clip, I'm being chased by bad guys and have to beam up while on the run.

Force Field. I decided to mess around with the ripple dissolve in Final Cut Pro. In this clip, I encounter an unexpected force field and finally break through.

(New 11-02-2005) Transporter Bonanza.  Well I don't know if it's a bonanza, but practice makes perfect, I guess. I wanted to see what really low lighting looked like, if its too dark, don't fret because I'll keep messing around with it and lighten it up a little bit over the next couple of days. (FYI, PCs show video darker than Macs.) I've messed around with the transporter effect (even though I don't have Apple Motion 2 yet, so it's very basic) and some other little goodies in here. Worked on some sound stuff too.  This one should work with Quicktime 3 through the present.

Wonder Spin. I've always wanted to do this. And it was a good way to learn some basic functionality of Apple Motion 2. By the way, I bought that workout outfit in 1990 and basically hadn't worn it since.

Split Screen. Here I am messing around with split screen technology. It took me about eight hours to get it where I like it.

Split Screen and Stop Animation (new 01-Aug-2006). Here I am messing around with the split screen again, with a dash of stop animation (my first!) for good measure.
